Your guide will meet you at 9:00 am at your hotel for a walking tour of the historical center of San Francisco de Campeche, one of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The only walled city in Mexico, Campeche is a well-preserved example of a harbor town. Its beautifully restored historical center represents a model of Baroque colonial city planning and more than 1,000 buildings of historical value have survived from the Spanish colonial period of the 17th and 18th centuries. After the walking tour we will ride aboard our ground transportation to the San Miguel Fort, an XVIII century military building where the Archaeology Museum is located. After wards we’ll proceed to the San José El Alto Fort, over a hill at the other end of town and contemporary of the former one, where the Museum of Arms and Sailing is located. At the end of the visit we will return to your hotel.
