DIVE AT AKUMAL

Among the eco-systems of the Yucatan Peninsula, we find the Great Mayan Reef, that runs along the Quintana Roo coast. Akumal’s Bay calm and clear waters, facing the Reef, present a very safe place to learn scuba diving. The Akumal Dive Shop is one of the first scuba diving facilities in the Yucatan and is often referred to as the "Original" Akumal Dive Shop. For over thirty years the dive shop has conducted open water dives on the coral reefs in front of the small village of Akumal. We are "the real thing". The Akumal Dive Shop is a Five Star PADI Training Facility and Instructor Development Center specializing in recreational snorkeling and scuba diving. In this 3 nights (4 days) excursion you will have the opportunity of diving and fishing in the crystal clear Caribean waters.

Day 1, Arrival at Cancun, Akumal

MAYA NATURE welcomes you at Cancún International Airport (CUN). Upon arrival one of our drivers will transfer you at your hotel in Akumal for check in and overnight. Rest of the day and meals on your own.

Day 2, Akumal (*)

This day we will take the Discover Scuba Diving Course.Commonly referred to as the "Resort Course", this PADI designed course introduces the non-diver to scuba diving. The course is divided into three parts; academics, confined water (Akumal Bay) and open water. During the academic portion you learn basic scuba concepts to include equipment assembly and equalizing air spaces. After completing the skills practice session in our bay we proceed via boat to one of our shallow dive sites. Here you will enjoy scuba diving the coral reefs in the warm clear Caribbean. After the course we will enjoy lunch. Rest of the day at leisure at the white sand beach of Akumal.L.

Day 3, Akumal

After breakfast, you will be free to enjoy the quiet turquoise waters and white sand your hotel beach. Day on your own. As an option you could take optional tours (see Tours from Akumal). B.

Day 4, Cancun Airport

After breakfast, at your hotel we'll pick you up at your for transfer to the Cancun International Airport (CUN) in order to board your flight back home. B.
